In the Central African Republic (CAR), mental health is increasingly seen as a cornerstone of peace and rehabilitation in communities affected by long-term conflict. A multi-partner initiative funded by the UN Peacebuilding Fund has helped rebuild systems for trauma support in cities like Bria and Bangassou. The programme has trained more than 110 psychosocial agents, provided care to over 2,000 people, and introduced “E-Seni ti li,” a mobile app that enables self-screening and referral to mental health services. These efforts recognize that social healing and psychosocial support are critical foundations for lasting peace.
